MACROCOSMOS
/ 40 minutes /
The show "Macrocosmos" is a virtual journey to “the end of the Universe”, where beauty and harmony mingle with monstrous phenomena. Unusual animations based on the latest research show the Earth as a particle suspended in a multidimensional space. But have we reached the limits of understanding of our Universe? What else can we discover in the future?
Stars always make a great impression. We marvel at the sheer number of them and the greatness of the Universe. But when we look at the night sky, we have no sense of depth. This was confusing for early observers. The stars appeared to be on a sphere surrounding our world and the observers were unable to realize how much deeper the extremities of Universe were.
Today, the Universe resembles an enormous, cosmic network, like a giant spider web. Each thread is made up of billions of galaxy clusters. Each galaxy is a cluster of billions of stars. Every star is a distant sun. A few small particles orbit one of these stars and one of these particles is called Earth. This is our homeland. Our microscopic, yet very big house.
